FAITH
By Rick Mathes
Colossians 2:4 (NASB77) 4 I say this in order that no one may delude you with persuasive argument.
Faith is believing and acting in faith on that belief. The object of the faith is critical: it must be true %100 without even a shadow of doubt. The only absolute truth is Christ so with that logic all faith is in Jesus, His words and works. How deep is your love? How deep is your faith?
One way to measure your love for our Lord is to measure your love for the saints. The Body of Christ, the invisible church, is composed of only those who are His. My nose is not real buddies with my toe but loves my toe and when my toe is hurt my nose, in fact my nose feels the pain. My body is one orgasm as the Body of Christ is. We don’t have to like each other but we but love each other.
When without faith we wanted to die, now will live our lives out with the ever present and expectant hope of His return for His own; This will propel us into the infinite forever. How exciting can it be but to have an eternal vacation if unimaginable ecstasy and explosion after explosion of indescribable illuminations of our King as He really is.
The key is not to have a counterfeit gospel. Throughout the history of Christianity false priests have spewed “strange fire.” There are demons in pulpits all over America and the flaming hell-hounds have infiltrated anything associated with the true Gospel. Paul condemned those who would prevent the first Gospel with destruction. How do you knpow that you are professing the real thing, the Lord’s good news?
The tree of faith is measured by the fruit it bears. It’s easy when it’s easy but when the going gets tough, I mean really tough, do you get going or do you retreat? Can up keep the faith in good times as well as bad? When everything seems to be going down are you still praising the Lord’s wisdom with your family?
None of any of the above can have a glimmer of existence without the grace of God. That amazing grace is the glue that holds everything together. It’s by that grace you have been saved and as by His grace that you are sustained. How good can God be but to save us by his love for us and then provide with His sustain grace to carry us home.
