FALLEN CHURCH

FALLEN CHURCH

By Rick Mathes

1 Corinthians 1:10 Now I exhort you, brethren, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that you all agree, and there be no divisions among you, but you be made complete in the same mind and in the same judgment.

Francis Schaefer sums up all the theologians that preceded him as Martin Luther did his and Calvin did for those to come. In a short statement: “We didn’t learn anything from Corinth. We still have turmoil and Christianity as we know it in on the brink of extinction.”

The divisions and dissentions still flare up and continue. When you have two Christians you have a church. When you have three Christians you have two churches! Sad but true. Power and control trumps faith and doctrine. The world has invaded the church and is on the verge of winning if it were not for God’s intervention.

I was once asked, “If you were to destroy religion, what would you do?” I replied, “Leave them alone and watch Christianity rise from the ashes.”

Following false ministers by groupies and nut-jobs come about because of an anti-Christ leader with charisma and eloquence: Satan was the angel of light before his fall. Didn’t the greatest human who ever lived, John the Baptist say, “I must be lesser so that He may be greater?” There is where we have the solution: humility.

This cliquishness leads to moral compromise that is the equivalent of prostitution. As truth is polluted with the dirt of lies, it becomes filthy in incremental degrees until it has crossed the line and receives Father Lucifer’s blessing and magical signs and sacraments.

Carnality is the result of when the arms of Abraham collapse and there are no chamions of grace to lift them. The vacuum left by falling from grace births sexual pervertion and our feet are planted once again in Corinth. We’ve come full circle. How sad.

Fornication is a sure ticket to hell which hardly anyone honors Christian or not. Valerie, an ex-everything I know, said, “When a woman wants a man, God goes out the window until she gets him.” I was shocked but when that wore off, I looked around at the half naked, sensuous, and lusting women in churches and lamented that the fool in the pulpit didn’t have enough “spiritual T” to clean house. False shepherds will pay for this neglect. God guarantees it!
